The Russian ambassador has a special mission

Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin has a special mission. He constantly reminds Armenian officials that Armenia's ally is Russia and Yerevan will not be able to move away from the Kremlin. Kopırkin again said that there is cooperation in all fields of the two countries. With this, the Kremlin sent a message to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan through its ambassador that "even if you want to, you will not be able to break away from Russia." "Relations are wide not only between our states, but also between nations and people," the ambassador said, repeating his opinion that he does not see an alternative in the alliance relations between the two countries, including in the field of security.

Despite this, Pashinyan has placed European observers in Armenia against the wishes of the Kremlin. Pashinyan has great hopes for them. This means that the Kremlin's and Ambassador Kopyrkei's warnings do not work. With this move, the Kremlin will consider using pressure tools against Pashinyan's government. The most perfect of these tools is natural gas. Russia may increase the price of gas for Armenia or create interruptions in the supply of blue fuel. In this case, Pashinyan will ask Tehran to increase the volume of gas it transports from Iran. If Tehran responds positively to Pashinyan's request, it will violate the Kremlin's plan and this will raise questions for Russian-Iranian relations.
