The "Big Seven" are aware of the secret deal between Russia and Armenia

The main topic of the summit of the leaders of the "big seven" held in Hiroshima, Japan, was again Ukraine. Of course, the leaders of the big states also discussed topics such as climate change, the global economic situation, and nuclear security. But Ukraine was above all topics.

On the first day of the meeting, the leaders adopted a joint statement on the war in Ukraine. The statement consisted of 11 points. The leaders once again emphasized that they will support Ukraine as much as it needs. This means that the "big seven" will do everything in their power to ensure that Ukraine is not defeated. However, on the second day after the discussion began, news came that Russia had concluded its occupation of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut. However, the Russian army and "Wagner" mercenaries have not succeeded in occupying the city for months, suffering tens of thousands of casualties. Although the Ukrainian army tried to continue its resistance until the end, it retreated to a more suitable position. This is not the end, Ukraine will continue its struggle to return Bakhmut.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zeensky's participation in the summit was announced via video conference. Nevertheless, Zelensky decided to attend the summit. It was important for Zelenskiy to explain to his leaders in general and one-on-one conversations the importance of increasing support for Ukraine. For example, Ukraine is trying to buy F-16 aircraft from the United States. In Washington, there are those who approach this request positively and those who approach it negatively. Russian planes had the upper hand in Ukrainian skies.

The leaders of the "Big Seven" said that the sanctions against Russia are effective and Russia's tensions are decreasing. Sanctions against Russia will be tightened, new companies and names of more Russian citizens will be added to the list. For example, Great Britain increased the list to 86 Russian citizens, while Canada's list includes 70 Russian individuals and companies. There are also Armenian companies cooperating with Russian sanctioned companies in the US list. In the analytical report prepared by the "Atlas" Research Center last month, a list of Armenian state-owned companies that Washington and Brussels are trying to get rid of Russian state-owned companies from sanctions was published. This is a secret agreement between Armenia and Russia.

The second main topic of the "Big Seven" was China. The leaders expressed concern over China's increasing military power in the oceans, its military plans against Taiwan, and its policy of repression against the Uyghurs. Beijing reacted harshly to these accusations. Beijing said that the opinions voiced against China in Japan will harm relations. Beijing has declared that the issue of Taiwan and the Uyghurs is China's internal affair.

Despite Beijing's statement, Western countries have different positions on both issues. It is no coincidence that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called China the biggest threat to global security. "The G7 has demonstrated unity of purpose in relation to China. "China represents the greatest challenge to global security and prosperity of our century," said the head of the British government, emphasizing the importance of continuing the struggle with Russia as well as China.
