What demands did the official Baku send to the Armenian separatists?

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on January 18 that a few days ago a meeting was held between the representative of Azerbaijan and representatives of the separatists with the participation of the commander of the Russian contingent. The meeting was related to the situation on Lachin road. Lavrov said that he thinks that the issue will be resolved soon. That is, according to Lavrov, the situation in the Lachin corridor should change after this meeting. But this is not the case. Lavrov spoke by phone with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. Jeyhun Bayramov once again expressed Azerbaijan's demands to Lavrov. The main demand is to monitor the copper and gold deposits in Karabakh controlled by the separatists. Because those deposits are against the laws of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan cannot benefit from the exploitation of deposits. There are also environmental issues.

Armenian websites reported that official Baku sent demands to Armenian separatists in Karabakh. The leader of the Armenian separatists, Araik Harutunyan, explained the demands of the official Baku to his supporters: 1. Ruben Vardanyan must leave Karabakh; 2. Separatists should stop working in their mines; 3. X-ray scanner devices should be installed at the Russian border-crossing point of the Lachin corridor, and there should be a representative of Azerbaijan among those monitoring the cargo; 4. Heavy military equipment belonging to the separatists should be removed from the region.

Araik Arutunyan and his separatist entourage will not fulfill these demands of official Baku. According to Armenian sources, Arutyunyan's reaction to the demands of official Baku was as follows: "Even if we fulfill the demands of official Baku, there is no guarantee that the corridor will be opened or that it will not be closed again 1-2 weeks after opening. In response, Azerbaijan stopped gas supply for several hours yesterday. In general, difficult days are ahead."

Indeed, there will be more difficult days for the Armenian separatists. The demands sent by the official Baku to the separatists through the Russian military contingent are the beginning of the process. After that, other demands will be made.
